The Open Body / El cuerpo abierto
2019

The work poses the notion of the open body: as a tendency; a state, a capacity (of this subject I may be) – to give itself over to the erotic power of togetherness (I/you you/it it/us m/y); what we may consider as an interdependent passion contributing to the unworking of subjectivity, and a more-than-social movement, by relating one to the incomplete, the undoing of forms of life: an anarchic bodily imagination (as the basis for relating otherwise: spiders, rocks, fingers).

The work is staged as a three-hour explorative performance with intermittent sound, experimental movement, and a spiral: walking as slowly as possible, round and round, inward then outward, and then giving way to instances of interruption, transfiguration: these things toward which I move and am moved by. An improvisation in attachment, affiliation, being-unworked, fragmentation, love.

They enter, they exit; something stirs, a motion, a voice: an opening, on the way to speech, then back; hesitation, thinking, thinking the body into the air, onto the ground; vibration, then into, as they enter, as they exit.

With performers: Kamille Gutiérrez, Peggy Kuruz, Paz Marín and Catalina Tello.

Presented at Museum of Solidarity Salvador Allende, Santiago de Chile.
